This mural pays tribute to the artists who have performed in Montreux over the past 60 years as part of the Septembre Musical, Montreux Jazz Festival and La Saison. It celebrates Montreux, a UNESCO Creative City of Music. An artistic endeavour, this monumental 10-metre vinyl-shaped piece celebrates Montreux’s musical history through a patchwork of collages featuring the faces of some 60 artists, musicians and singers, including several iconic figures. All of them have contributed in their own way to bringing this music-loving city to life for over 60 years. It is not static: it invites multiple interpretations, with each glance revealing new details, new emotions, an invisible thread connecting the artists to each other and to Montreux.
This composition is a collective celebration of music in Montreux, not only heard, but lived and embodied.
